DEMON WEAPONS
Can't decide what to make your demon weapon? Look no further, we're here to help! Here's a great big list of the weapons you could potentially be!
AXES
- Spoiler:
- Bat'leth: An elegant and unusual weapon, the bow-shaped bat'leth deals damage with it's cutting edge in the middle and the large piercing spikes. Experienced wielders can use the weapon with much more precision then unskilled ones, but it is a surprisingly easy, if different, weapon to use.
- Valhalla Axe: Despite its name, this weapon is not actually a true axe. The Valhalla Axe is actually an electric guitar that has been slightly modified for combat purposes. The casing has been made from reinforced materials to make it sturdier and a little heavier than normal, which makes it really useful for bashing an enemy over the head without breaking the weapon. However, the Valhalla Axe's true specialty is in long range and area-of-effect attacks. By channeling a Soul Wavelength through it and strumming its strings, it is capable of unleashing a sonic shockwave and frequencies in the form of musical notes. The more complicated and difficult the "song", the more powerful the shockwaves will be. The main drawback of this weapon is that both the Weapon and Meister must already be accomplished musicians in order to draw out the true potential of the Valhalla Axe. Put simply, the more skilled they are in the performing and musical arts, the more powerful this weapon becomes.
- War Pick: A war pick is actually more akin to a war hammer than a true axe weapon, but it features a sharpened and slightly curved spike instead of a blunt head. The spike is meant to pierce through armor and stab into the vulnerable flesh beneath.
- Masakari:=-;i= A Japanese battleaxe with a spike on the opposite side of the blade.
- [i]Rope Axe: This weapon, effectively the blade of a greataxe on 10 feet of silk rope (making it a reach weapon), is extremely difficult to use but is highly effective and unlike most other weapons with reach, it can be used against an adjacent foe. It requires both hands, a decent amount of strength and dexterity, and extensive training to use without penalty.
SWORDS
- Spoiler:
- Bladesong Sword: This sword looks like a saber with small holes in it's handle. These holes are so that when swung, the sword emits different sound frequencies, but make it very hard to handle without proper training due to the wind streams.
- Ezurian Saber: This weapon look like a cross between a katana and a saber. Slightly more curved than the regular katana. Unlike a katana, the hilt has a guard, giving the blade parry abilities. The blade form makes it more potent at slashing and hacking, unlike a katana or other eastern weapon.
- Iccel: This blade looks like a longsword except it has a toothed edge and a curve. It is heavy, but easy to hold even by one hand. It is a bit difficult than an ordinary longsword, though, and deals more damage because of it.
- Vine Sword: The Vine Sword appears as a normal longsword with odd chevron groves up its blade, and functions perfectly fine as one, as a martial weapon. However, one can also toggle it into its second form with a flick of a wrist and a press of a button, which is a deadly bladed whip of varying lengths. The cord that runs through the center of each blade section has an unusual ability to stretch longer and longer as more force is added to each swing. However, the cutting power becomes greatly reduced due to the larger space between blade as the cord stretches. In short, the longer it becomes, the larger the space between individual blades become.
- Ribbed Sword: A Ribbed Sword is crafted by forging a series of sharp blades that are about half the size of a knife. These blades are then forged together so that the blade has many sharp blades, looking a bit like ribs, hence the name.
- Ambit Sword: The Ambit Sword is a long, wide sword with an extra or very long grip to stabilize the blade when striking far opponents.
- Nagamaki: The nagamaki is a Japanese pole weapon with a large and heavy blade, popular between the 12th and 14th centuries, and very similar to a glaive. It was a long sword with 2–4 feet blade and a shaft with 2–3 feet length. The blade was single-edged. It was also beveled along the back edge to reduce its weight. It resembles a traditional naginata, but the main difference was that the handle (tsuka) of the nagamaki was not a simple wooden shaft; it was made more like a katana hilt. Even the name "nagamaki" ("long wrapping") is given by the tradition of handle wrapping. The nagamaki handle was wrapped with cords in criss-crossed manner, very similar to the wrapping that is made on katana. The nagamaki is considered to be a type of the no-dachi sword, a variation of the long samurai sword.
- Zanbatou: Literally meaning "horse-slaying sword" or "horse-chopping saber", this weapon is an especially large type of Japanese sword, the historical use of which is disputed. The sword is two-handed and very heavy, often ranging from five to seven feet in overall length.
- Bladesong Sword: This sword looks like a saber with small holes in it's handle. These holes are so that when swung, the sword emits different sound frequencies, but make it very hard to handle without proper training due to the wind streams.
MACES & HAMMERS
- Spoiler:
- Macuahuitl: The macuahuitl (a name derived from the Nahuatl language) is a weapon shaped like a wooden club. Its sides are embedded with prismatic blades made from obsidian, a volcanic glass stone frequently used for tool making by the Aztec and other pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures. Most macuahuitl range from between three to six feet in length, and because the obsidian blades are sharper than steel, they make effective crushing and cutting weapons.
- Meteor Hammer: Consisting of little more than a long length of rope or chain attached to a heavy round weight, the meteor hammer is actually far more versatile than most would think. Using a meteor hammer involves swinging it around the body to build up considerable speed, before releasing the meteor to strike at any angle. When used by a skilled fighter, its speed, accuracy and unpredictability make it a difficult weapon to defend against. While being swung, a meteor may be wrapped around its user's arms, legs, torso, neck or waist, before being unwrapped by a powerful jerk of the body to deliver a devastating and lightning fast punch. A master is fully capable of striking, ensnaring or strangling from a distance.
- Spiked Hammer: The spiked hammer is a large sledgehammer forged of metal, with a heavy spike on one end. With its sheer weight, it crushes bones and impacts through the hardest of armor as if it were tinfoil. It's similar to the warhammer, but larger and much heavier.
- Torch Mace: A torch mace is essentially a light or heavy mace with a head that has been modified to function as a torch, in addition to being a powerful blunt instrument. The head can be made to store various flammable materials, and comes equipped with vents lining the sides and top to allow the flame contained inside to breath. And scorch whatever is hit with the blunt end.
- Rocket Hammer: This oversized wooden maul of a hammer seems to simply be your average giant bludgeoning device, but is actually a marvel of technology and simple application. With a flick of a switch and some extra power from a Soul Wavelength, the user can swing a rocket powered POW! right at the opponents. The side of the hammer head facing away from the target opens up to reveal a large thruster, where explosive energies ignite with the air and rush the hammer forward. A Rocket Attack is a powerful but very unwieldy technique, which often causes the user to be thrown forward along with the weapon if not done carefully. In addition, this ability possess a two minute "cool down" before it may be used again.
SPEARS
- Spoiler:
- Glaive: A glaive is a polearm consisting of a single-edged blade on the end of a pole. It is similar to the Japanese naginata and the Chinese Guan Dao. However, instead of having a tang like a sword or naginata, the blade is affixed in a socket-shaft configuration similar to an axe head. Typically, the blade was around 45 cm (18 inches) long, on the end of a pole 2 m (6 or 7 feet) long. Occasionally glaive blades were created with a small hook on the reverse side to better catch riders. Such blades are called glaive-guisarmes.
- Bladgener: The Bladgener (Blad-gen-er) is a curious weapon akin to a trident with built-in hand grips on the shaft. These grips are encapsulated in large armoured protectors which equates to the weapon possessing for all intents and purposes a buckler. They may also be used to make improvised attacks by ramming them into the face off the opponent by swinging the shaft as if it were a staff.
- Lajatang:A lajatang is a rare and unusual double weapon found only in the hands of martial artists skilled in its use. It consists of a three to five foot shaft with a crescent blade fitted at each end. Most lajatangs have barbs sticking out from the edges to maximize effectiveness. It is used in the same fashion as a two-headed halberd, by impacting the enemy and rake his body for extensive wounds. The lajatang may be considered a cousin of the more traditional wooden quarterstaff.
- Chigiriki: A chigiriki is a ninja weapon consisting with a staff (generally as long as the user's arm) with a chain attached to the end. This chain can be used to entangle and trip opponents, and can also be made to hold a wide variety of different weapon heads. The most common are either small scythe blades, dagger blades, or small iron weights.
DAGGERS
- Spoiler:
- Katar: The katar, or punching dagger, is a type of short punching sword that is popular for its quick and swift attacks. It is notable for its horizontal hand grip, which results in the blade of the sword sitting above the user's knuckles. The katar is used to stab an opponent one has to simply punch instead of thrust, unlike when using a regular knife or dagger. It is more like an extension of the fist than a dagger, and it seems more natural to attack and defend with a katar.
- Kukri: The kukri is a curved Nepalese knife used as both tool and weapon. It is also a part of the regimental weaponry and heraldry of The Royal Gurkha Rifles. It is known to many people as simply the "Gurkha Blade" or "Gurkha Knife". The kukri is basically designed for chopping and stabbing purposes as a weapon of war, but it still can be used in other household or daily tasks, such as: building or digging a furrow, to cut meat and vegetables, to cut trees etc. It functions as a cross between a knife and an axe. Depending on the purpose, its design and manufacture varies. Blades are usually 3 - 10 cm wide and 30 – 38 cm long, but size varies depending on its purpose. Blades are deflected at an angle of 20 degrees or more, with a thick spine and a single sharp cutting edge; this causes the end section of the blade to strike square on, greatly increasing chopping effectiveness.
- Kris: The kris or keris is a distinctive, asymmetrical dagger indigenous to Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Southern Thailand and the southern Philippines. Both a weapon, and spiritual object, krisses are often considered to have an essence or presence, with some blades possessing good luck and others possessing bad.
- Triple Dagger: The triple dagger was a weapon used by European fencers. In its closed position this weapon appeared to be a plain dagger, but when a release catch was pressed, two side blades push out from the central blade to form a sort of trident. In this form the weapon was rather handy in parrying rapiers and other thrusting-type weapons. A very handy defensive weapon prized by both fencers and unarmed fighters.
- Chakram]: The chakram is a deadly throwing weapon used by many ancient peoples in war. It is a flat metal disk with a sharpened edge and a smooth inside. Some feature a wooden grip in the interior of the ring, which also allow it to split into two halves that can be used in melee as punching blades. Skilled masters of this weapon have been known to take advantage of its high speed rotations and velocity when thrown by causing it to ricochet off obstacles at precise angles, thereby attacking multiple targets with a single throw before it returns to the owner.
- Dark Star]: A dark star is a shuriken of enormous proportions. Each point is actually a thin blade that is usually between one and one and half feet in length, which also double as effective melee and defensive weapons. In addition, those who are skilled with this type of weapon may throw it and then have it return to them like a boomerang. Just remember to watch out for the blades so they don't cut you in half by mistake.
BOWS, CROSSBOWS & BLOWGUNS
- Spoiler:
- Long Blade Bow: Simply put, a Long Blade Bow is a longbow with blades fixed to the outside curves of the top and bottom half, making it an effective weapon at both long range and short range. Due to it's weight and slightly greater rigidity compared to a normal longbow, it's maximum range is three quarters of a normal longbow's, but the blades make an effective attack and defense against targets who draw too near.
- Shielded Crossbow: This heavy crossbow has been modified with a specially designed buckler mounted on the front. A small slit in the buckler allows the weapon to be fired normally. For all purposes of combat, it is treated as a heavy crossbow, except that as long as it is held with the front facing outward, it provides a small amount of protection from incoming arrows or bolts, in addition to any other shield bonuses, such as from normal shields.
- Fukiya: Fukiya, a usually black-stained Japanese blowgun, is considered to be a Ninja weapon and can be used as a breathing tube for hiding underwater. The user can remain indefinitely no deeper than 5ft. below the surface of any body of water deep enough to fully submerge the user. Blowguns of this type are used to propel long needles called Fukibari. Fukibari are similar to senbon needles, but are a bit longer and bit thinner so they are easier to fire through the blowgun.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Spoiler:
- Nunchaku: This weapon consists of two metal or wooden rods connected by a short length of rope or chain, usually about a foot long. The nunchaku is claimed to be a very effective close-range weapon by its proponents. When used in combat, the nunchaku provides the obvious advantage of an increase in the reach of one's strike. Somewhat difficult to control, the rope or chain joint of the nunchaku adds the benefit of striking from unexpected angles. Practitioners of the flashier styles contend that the motion of the nunchaku is often found distracting by opponents, who may have trouble keeping up with the nunchaku's rapid movement. In addition, the reach of the nunchaku is often underestimated, even by those experienced with its use.
- Parrying Gauntlet: The blade of a scythe and a leather gauntlet have been combined to form an interesting meld of weapon and armor. The blade is connected on the side of the forearm, just below the wrist, and curves beyond the back of the user's elbow. The blade may also be made to flip forward by a spring-loaded mechanism so that it extends from the wrist at a perpendicular right angle. This can be used to surprise an opponent and maximize the gauntlet's offensive power, but at a sacrifice to its defense.
- Bladed Fan: Elegant and graceful, these are Chinese fans which fold out with patterns upon them. Unlike their gentle fabric versions, bladed fans are composed of many sharp thin slat blades reinforced by a metallic and hinged frame. It makes a good secret weapon for those not expecting it, is light, and can still provide the benefits of a regular fan. They come in a variety of sizes, often ranging from a foot in length to the size of the wielder.
- Ringblade: The Ringblade is a large circular ring with three hold points evenly around the weapon. The outer ring is sharpened to a fine point and allow it to act as a slashing weapon. The blade is light and smooth enough, with proper training, to be thrown through the air, like a chakram of a larger size.
- Metal Sleeve: Essentially an enormous gauntlet, the metal sleeve is a sleeve of superbly strong wire mesh with half-inch thick metal plates on the forearm, shoulder, back of the hand, and each knuckle. This weapon is quite heavy and dangerous when being used by someone who can move comfortably with it on, making it an effective weapon and shield all in one.
